Oprah was born in rural Mississippi to a teenage single mom. She faced a lot of troubles in her childhood. The most bitter part of her life was when she was raped at the age of 9 and 13. After suffering from abuse, she finally decided to leave home. Soon she discovered her pregnancy at the age of 14 but the baby died during the initial days. In high school, she got a job on the radio and began co-anchoring evening news at the age of 19.

She was soon transferred to the day time shift because of her great performance. At the age of 32, she became a millionaire when her show became national. Oprah Winfrey is listed as the World's only black billionaire from 2004 to 2006. In 2004, she had a net worth of 2.9 billion dollars.
