happiness is just around the corner

Happiness is finding joy in your heart.

I woke up early this morning just in time to witness the sunrise as dawn slowly fades from the background. I turned to my side to see my behalf sleeping soundly beside me. I can’t stop my face from grinning. I stood up from bed to check on my children.

I am happy to wake up with my family beside me and sleeping peacefully in our home. Not all children around the world can feel the serenity as they sleep. Not all families are waking up each day and seeing the faces of their parents and siblings first thing in the morning. Some hear shouting from the neighborhood or terrible cries of babies across their home. I am lucky to feel this moment; that’s why I am thankful to the Lord that I can find joy within my environment.

Yes, happiness is just around the corner. All you have to do is open your eyes to see the beauty of things around you and be delighted with every creature in front of you. Happiness is present in a place where the heart dwells.
