The Relatable Writer
I have worked as a junior journalist before my Masters in Mass communication and journalism.
It is a vicious circle of unproductive time that ruins your work, and it's progress. Any task you generally have a deadline with, you keep on delaying it till the last moment. Procrastination is like a drug addiction that kills productivity. And believe me, delaying just keeps making it worse and worse.
Breaking the Procrastination Chain with the Seinfeld Strategy
Jerry Seinfeld is probably one of the best comics in the history of the US. He had a great plan for getting out of Procrastination.
The Seinfeld strategy is to get a big calendar with each day marked individually and use it to do something productive each day, no matter how small it is. It will help to eliminate your procrastination.
For example, if you're a writer and have a writer's block, try writing one page for each day of your calendar. Once you get in this habit of writing one page a day, your writer's block will vanish!
So, next time you have a big paper on "The history of American Civil War," and you're freaking out, try writing one page a day to finish it in no time. Try the Seinfeld Strategy to break the chain of Procrastination.
