Are you excited to know how to stop overthinking?

"If you treat every situation as a life and death matter, you’ll die a lot of times.” –Dean Smith

How many times do you feel that you think a lot about a particular topic? Two, three, or four hours a day? Is it that less?

    No!

When you talk about a particular topic, you actually start thinking about it without knowing the change.

Overthinking is fine if it is within a limit. It is absolutely not a reason to worry about if you are thinking about something in a healthy manner. But if it is hurting your day-to-day life and you are getting deep in the well of insomnia, that is, deprivation of sleep, then it is a problem. You must think of getting away from overthinking.

Many of us have the habit of overthinking, and everyone wants to get rid of it!

“Nothing can harm you as much as your own thoughts unguarded.” – Buddha

Overthinking is a generalized anxiety disorder. This a common psychiatric illness that is characterized by excessive worrying, in the simple word "overthinking."

These people generally tend to have negative thoughts. If the disorder progresses, these people get some symptoms like easy fatigue, difficulty sleeping, headache and body ache, etc.

    ‌⭕ WHY DO I OVERTHINK?

People become attached to their burdens sometimes more than the burdens are attached to them.” – George Bernard Shaw
    Worrying about the future.
This is the constant thought that we have regarding our future. We continuously worry about it.
You never let a thing go.
We have a great impact on our brains due to the silly-looking situation. This is the reason for overthinking.
“Thinking too much leads to paralysis by analysis. It's important to think things through, but many use thinking as a means of avoiding action.” – Robert Herjavek

    ‌⭕ HOW TO STOP OVERTHINKING?

Set a timer for five minutes and notice what you are thinking. If you felt that you are thinking about something very silly for more than half a day, then you probably overthink almost everything.

Now, the important question is how to stop it. So, let me tell you some basic steps for it.

●Learn to live in the present moment.
Spend eighty percent of your time focusing on the opportunities of tomorrow rather than the problems of yesterday.” – Brian Tracy

This is something which we have been learning since our childhood. Almost every teacher that we met in the schools told us about living in the present.

Be aware of the present time, about what is going on in the present. Focus on the positive thoughts.

    ●Stay happy.
Start spending most of your time with those people who motivate you and make you feel good and happy. Start focussing on things or work which delight you peacefully.
    ●Enjoy your life.
Yes! We got this life as a human being after many difficulties. So, do not waste it in the process of overthinking that also in a negative way.

    ●Stop expecting a lot.
Yes, you read it right! We expect a lot beyond our limitations from ourselves. We stop realizing that even we are human beings, and sometimes we may fail too. And this is absolutely fine!

“Don't get too deep, it leads to over thinking, and over thinking leads to problems that doesn't even exist in the first place.” – Jayson Engay
    ●Forgive yourself.
It is okay if you do not pass the exam. It is not a big deal. As I already said, we are humans, and we may make mistakes too.
Just accept it with full responsibility and make an oath to tackle the difficult situation in a positive manner.
“Take time to deliberate, but when the time for action has arrived, stop thinking and go in.” – Napoleon Bonaparte

Therefore, we must not think a lot before doing something. Just be focused and have faith in yourself. Be ready to accept the defeat, too, without any grief.

    ‌⭕ OVERTHINKING DISORDER

This problem of overthinking can lead to many health issues, which may further show many consequences. A sound mind in a sound body has been recognized as a social ideal for many centuries.
Some books of preventive and social medicine explain mental health as follows:
Mental health is the balanced development of the individual's personality and emotional attitudes which enable him to live harmoniously with his fellow men.
    As explained by many legends:
Mental health is not exclusively a matter of the relationship between person; it is also a matter of the relation of the individual towards the community he lives in, towards the society of which community is the part, and towards the social institutions which form a large part guide his life, determine his way of living, working, leisure, and the way he earns and spends his money, the way he sees happiness, stability, and security.
    By definition available:
Mental and behavioral disorders are understood as clinically significant conditions characterized by alteration in thinking, mood {emotions} or behavior associated with personal distress and/or impaired functioning.

Here are many different reasons to stop overthinking as early as possible.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain
