A.) Relax your mind

The first and foremost thing is that you have to study for a short period rather than studying for a long duration. It is not good to learn as long as you are not understanding what you are reading. Our brain works well till if you are trying to learn for a shorter duration but if you are going to learn for a longer duration, then whatever you learn later you cannot very well remember it.

Therefore, instead of learning all at once, give some breaks in between and then start learning. This way when you are with a tutor your mind is more focused to grasp new ideas. To help you, here I am discussing six brain hacks that are used by people all around the world for learning faster. Let us talk about them, one by one:

1. Share your knowledge by teaching someone or just pretend to be teaching to someone else:

See, when we approach any new concept or topic as a teacher, we tend to learn and grasp the thing better. It is because when we try to become a teacher we look at all the possible aspects to the topic so that as a teacher we can make our pupil understand it completely. So always try to learn the topic as if you are a teacher. After learning or understanding the topic, try to teach it to someone else. Someone else maybe your friend, family member, or even a dog. If you are not able to get someone to whom you can teach, just pretend as if you are teaching someone else. This helps to memorize fast for the exam.

Remember, expectation changes our mindset and this is what helps us to learn better. When one prepares a topic like a teacher what he does is jot-out the important points and organize the information structure in such a way that it seems like a coherent self. This proves to be very effective in learning anything.

2. Learn In Small Blocks Of Time And Not As A Whole:

I have seen teachers directing their students to dedicate at least 30 to 50 minutes to learn or understand new material. Less than 30 minutes are not enough for the topic and more than 50 minutes together may increase the boredom or the chances are that the student may start to feel distracted. Keeping all this in mind, it is suggested that a student must learn in small blocks of time instead of learning for a longer duration of time together.

Breaking each study session into a block of 30 to 50 minutes is highly suggested. Or alternatively, make a study pattern in a way that there are frequent learning sessions every day than a longer study session. The smaller learning sessions are also called microlearning sessions. Small frequent learning sessions are preferred over longer infrequent study sessions.

3. Make A Habit Of Writing Notes By Hands:

With the frequent access to computers, laptops, tablets, and mobiles, it has now become a habit to type in the note in them. This also saves the paper. This is a good approach to saving notes to be used during the exams. But this is not a good approach for learning the notes. Actually, it has been found that writing with on a paper helps to comprehend better and remember them for long. Those who take the notes by hand listen more actively. This is a mindful activity in contrast to mindless transcriptions noted on a laptop.

4. Develop A Habit To Learn In Blocks:

It is obvious for some, but unknown to someone else. Blocking of continuous-time for learning is essential. How do you water your lawn or what is the best technique to water your lawn? Is it better to water 90 minutes a time every 3 days? Or is it better to water it for 30 minutes every day? You know what is right for the plant, so is the same for the brain. Mind spacing is important for learning. For retaining the information in mind for a long time, we have to repeat or revise it again and again. So learning with proper mind spacing and repetition is the key to learn for a long.

5. Take Breaks In Between The Time Blocks:

Continuous learning without breaks hinders the working of the mind. Mind and bodywork in tandem when both get proper rest. It is suggested that you must take small naps in between the longer study sessions. I mean to say, take rest after 4 or 5 hours of work, not after each block of the study session.
