grateful vs thankful - Are you ready to read the hidden mystery behind gratefulness?

In today's time, it is very important to show courtesy. Whenever we take something from someone or someone offers something to us, what do we say in reply?

Thank you! Or I am grateful!

We use these words in everyday life. But there are very few people who know the difference between these two words.

What is the difference between these two words? And, where to use them? When to use which word? These are some questions to which you are getting an answer in this article.

First of all, let us understand the meaning of both of them by example.

● For example, if I said, dear friends, I am grateful for all the support that you gave me when I was admitted to the hospital.

Or

● We forgot our pan card at the cash counter of a mall. We are thankful that we get it back.

What difference did you notice in both sentences?

It is not just used of a word thankful and grateful; these sentences also differ from each other in the sense of its meaning.

Like one sentence is having a positive feeling in which we are saying grateful, and the other sentence shows the opposite of positive thought where I used the word 'thankful.'

Understand this by more example:

1. There are many people who do not have a well-built house. I am grateful that God gave me this place.

Here in this sentence person is grateful for those things which he or she already has.

2. We forgot to lock our house yesterday night while we were leaving for a party. We are thankful that our house is not robbed.

Here in this sentence person is thankful that nothing bad happened to him or her.

Being thankful and grateful is an amazing feeling which develops positivity in us and boosts our confidence. This further helps us to achieve our goals.

These words are used interchangeably by the general population. But from today onwards, I hope you will use them appropriately in the right sentence.

We say grateful when we want to express our thanks for others, especially for one who did something positive for us.

For example, you will use grateful if you want to thank you to someone who helped you complete your project.

Gratitude is the feeling of appreciation felt by the person who received the act of goodness or some gifts, etc.

And the feeling is a creator of new aspects of one's life.

It is your feeling which drags you to give your two hundred percent in order to achieve your goals. If you want to make out the meaning of gratitude, then firstly, you should start feeling it for whatever you have in your life.

Thankful:

We say thankful when we are glad that something bad did not happen to us when we are happy that we are not in any trouble.

For example, you will use the word thankful if you are pleased that nothing wrong happened to you.

Related word to thankful is thankfully.

For example, I forgot to take my raincoat yesterday to my office, and thankfully it did not rain.
